You can set app limits but most of the time you don't know that you're spending that much time on an app.

Describe the solution you'd like
Pre-launch Timer: Before an app opens, prompt the user to set a specific duration for this session (e.g., "I want to use this for 5 minutes"). When the time is up, a blocking overlay should appear immediately.

Launch Frequency Limits: Add a setting to limit how often an app can be opened per day (e.g., allow opening Instagram only 10 times per day) or limit it to fixed session blocks (e.g., 30 sessions of 5 minutes each).

Thanks for the reply. I've looked into the app and I have seen features like Launch Limit, Usage reminders, App Time but they are all not time based or am I missing something?

When you set time limit on an app, In usage reminders select 'Overlay'.
This will remind the way you described

Thanks for the feedback and for pointing out PR #200. It looks like this implementation covers exactly what I had in mind!

Just to clarify the intent behind my request one last time:

The current reminders are reactive (they notify you while you are already scrolling). My proposal is proactive: The goal is to stop "unconscious opening" of apps. I want to be forced to set a timer before the app even launches (e.g., "I intend to use this for 10 minutes"). If I don't set it, the app shouldn't open.

Alternatively, a setting to strictly limit usage to fixed blocks (e.g., "30 sessions of 5 minutes each per day") would also work great.

It would be amazing if this gets merged! Thanks for the work, love it so far and excited for the release of this one!
