Test the construction of the global system

Now would be a good point to start writing tests for the functions which construct the global
system of equations to ensure we are doing things right and that when we start extending them
we don't break the previous cases.

A good example to test would be the one from the notes that we are working from. These tests should
be written before we change them to cope with non zero boundary conditions
