I can hardly write anything using FTP.

When I try to copy a package from game_pkg to the packages folder via FTP, the session just disconnects without giving a reason why. This is after a full format of my HDD and restore of my console, reinstallation of Evilnat, and fresh install of wMM, which was prompted by issues I was already having with webMAN MOD's FTP not allowing me to copy files out of the HDD while trying to back things up - it would give me permission errors and also most of the time would just flat out cause my PS3 to drop its connection to my network (it's connected via Ethernet, not Wi-Fi). Any guidance will be appreciated because I'm out of ideas at this point.

Edit: Just after posting I realized, could it be because I'm trying to perform write operations on the server via FTP? Doesn't exactly explain the initial problem I was having but could explain this, could it not?

Use static IP address in your PS3 and PC.

Try using FileZilla FTP client with passive mode. There are various tutorials in YouTube and PSX-Place forums suggesting different settings.

Use Ethernet for connection from PS3 to the router. WiFi can be unstable if there is interference or weak signal. Also you can try direct connection from PS3 to PC.

You also can disable the FTP server in webMAN MOD and use a different server. E.g. multiMAN, IRISMAN, Rebug Toolbox, Movian include their own FTP server.
