Can't use custom mygames.xml to fix ordering whilst displaying titles directly in XMB (not inside webMAN games folder)

The bug is basically:

• When webMAN Games = OFF, the XMB ignores the custom mygames.xml.
• When webMAN Games = ON, the XMB uses the custom XML.

Additionally, if you try this workaround:

1. Get the custom edited XML by enabling "webMAN Games".
2. Now, disable "webMAN Games".

Now, the webMAN Games folder doesn't disappear, but stays there in a bugged state. The ONLY way to fix it is to re-scan the XML, removing the custom edits.

As a result, there really is no way to both:

1. Show titles directly in XMB (not inside webMAN Games folder)
2. Use a custom edited XML file (for alphabetical or otherwise)

This is cobra, so jbgames.xml isn't used.

XMB loads the XML in cache and maintains it in memory until XMB is reloaded or the system is restarted.

After you make changes to XML, to see the changes you need to do one of the following actions:

• Use RELOAD XMB
• Start Remote Play then exit.
• Start an application then return to XMB
• Logout / login the current user in Users column

I have tried the following to get it the custom edits to appear in the XMB:

1. Using the RELOAD XMB button (edit didn't show in XMB, but afterwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).
2. Starting Remote Play then exiting (edit didn't show in XMB, but aftwerwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).
3. Starting an app (a PS3 game title) (edit didn't show in XMB, but aftwerwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).
4. Logging in/logging out my user (edit didn't show in XMB, but afterwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).
5. Turning off and rebooting the console (edit didn't show in XMB, but afterwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).
6. Running the webMAN command /reloadxmb.ps3 (this reloads the XMB, but, doesn't rescan or create a new automatically generated one (edit didn't show in XMB, but afterwards, the mygames.xml file retains the edit).

I found this thread with a similar issue, and I noticed the user said they used their PS3 essentially for months without the edits showing.

Only one reload method was needed (they are all basically the same).

If the edit is not showing after the RELOAD XMB, then the issue is something wrong in the XML. Some error can be:

• A missing or extra open/close XML tag. e.g. <> without </>
• Unsupported XML character like & < > and others.
• Tags in lower case
• Incorrect XML syntax

Try using a simple XML with only 2 or 3 games, after you get it showing in XMB, you can add more games incrementally to the XML.
