Profile Switcher - Edit shortcut problem + Profile-text ellipsed once switching

1. Shortcut cannot be edited properly:
   It is not easy to edit the “profile shortcut” field.
   On typing, one cannot start by typing “<” quotes, or text truncates...
   I got to type everything “without” quotes, then I pasted "<" ">" to designate the special keys.

2. Text ellipsed on profile choice (switch by means of shortcut):
   Once working, text length is too much short, so that it get ellipsed, and one cannot differ between two similar options (difference at the end of name).

There are two tasks issues here..

The shortcut field is a standard widget. Could be improved, but at the moment not highest priority.
If someone is willing to take that task I'd be happy to accept a PR.

There's nothing useful I can do about the OSD popup. It's a design choice by Gnome. I can have a look at it, but I don't think there's a good solution.
