Waveshare devices cheap at PiHut (£48 for two), switch £17, case £15, cables £4, existing Solis dongle, Exceedconn £9, total £93.
All running smoothly for a week now.

Sorry - no idea how to do that I'm afraid.
The PoE switch and Consumer Unit are linked above. The latter includes the DIN rail so that can be dropped from the BOM. It also came with basic compression glands for a possible further saving.
The better priced Waveshare RS485 PoE modules came from PiHut here: https://thepihut.com/products/rs485-to-rj45-ethernet-module
