Summary
UI for the website needs to be enhanced with some elegant themes or custom use of CSS/HTML codes. As we are using Jekyll as static website generator, it has many existing Themes available.
Suggestion : Use free themes. One of the free theme that can be utilize is minimal-mistakes
Motivation
For any website which can be static or dynamic , one looks for good visuals UI(technically front-end) which attracts gives better experience looking around the website.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Instead of referencing existing themes and adding it, the standard HTML, CSS and more front-end development languages can be used to build up attractive UI. This would be a last resort if using themes won't add much value.
Additional context
Along with good visuals, other functionality(search bar, category layout etc..) should not be impacted and even their design can be upgraded in UI.
