[🐞 BUG] 1.5.5 ➜ ChatGPT Atlas no longer auto-pastes dictated text

Hi,

Since today’s update, it looks like ChatGPT Atlas browser no longer pastes dictated text automatically.

When I finish dictating, I get a small “pop” sound, but nothing is inserted into the text field. I then have to paste the text manually. What’s odd is that the same workflow still works correctly in Chrome, so the issue seems specific to Atlas.

Do you know what could be causing this behavior? It was working fine before the update.

oh wow interesting. I use Comet and it seems fine. I will check Atlas out and see if i can find out why. Very interesting issue for sure haha

Thanks, when I start voice mode and dictate into a text field, everything seems fine while I’m speaking. But the moment I click the button again to stop the dictation, it’s as if the text field loses focus. As a result, the dictated text gets pasted nowhere, since no input is focused anymore. That would explain why I hear the little “pop” sound but nothing shows up.

It’s a really odd issue, I have no idea what could be causing the focus to be lost like that.

Thanks a lot for taking a look at it, I really appreciate it. I really enjoy using FluidVoice in ChatGPT Atlas, so it would be amazing if we you figure out a fix for this.

I just installed Atlas and tried it. It works for mee!! I tried on the URL bar and the chatgpt default text box as well.

That’s really strange then. It must be something specific on my side, maybe an extension or a particular setup, but honestly I can’t see what it could be right now.
If it’s working fine for you, that definitely suggests it’s local to my configuration.

I’ve done a few more tests on my side.

In the URL bar, and ChatGPT default search bar, it works perfectly.
In the writing assistant tool you can trigger with Cmd + E, it also works without any issue.

However, in a regular text field on a website or in the side panel, I consistently get the “pop” sound, the focus is lost, and the dictated text is not pasted anywhere.

Could you confirm on your side whether you see this issue in a normal text input as well, for example when writing a comment here on GitHub, or when dictating into the sidebar?

Hey, I just did some testing. I'm typing right now using FluidVoice on GitHub and it works amazing. I also tested it on the sidebar, the URL and other areas too. Actually, not sure what could be the reason for your issue right now. 🤔

That’s really strange, on my side it happens even in private browsing mode, so with zero extensions enabled. I'll let you know if I find the issue !
