AM32 - SerialConfigurator - maybe error?

I am new to this whole topic. Until now, I have been using ESCs that seem to come from the Middle Ages compared to these AM32-ESCs. I have a problem with the configuration software. I posted it here:

So far, no one has shown any interest.

Now I've stumbled across this site by chance.

Can someone explain the difference between the linked site and this one?

Alkamotors is my personal girhub account. Am32-firmware github site is the github organization for all am32 firmware , bootloader and related configurators. The Alkamotors repo is not updated. The first line on the old Readme is an announcement that this repo is not used and to use the new one.

@MlCHEL1234 It sounds like from the other issue that the settings have been saved in the old format from using the old config tool. On the "flash" tab send default settings with the 1.93 config tool. The web configurator am32.ca is the preferred way to change settings on the esc.

Hi,
thanks for your fast response. I actually flashed the ESC again with configtool 1.93 and immidiately saved the three settings. As You can see all worked fine. The web-configurator doesn't work here because the browser (Firefox for Linux) doesn't find what it is looking for (USB-Port ?), although the ch340-device is seen by lsusb.

I tried Firefox and konqueror, both as root. Both browsers have the same result (see hardcopy)
Is there a open port in the firewall needed?
If you know a solution...

Well message look clear to me.. "Use other browser". Had good success with Chrome under Linux flashing.

Maybe just keep using the ESC config tool?

Sometimes, not going with the mainstream comes at a price... Nobody knows this better than us Linux users.

I'm not satisfied with simply being told ‘it won't work’; I usually want to know why it won't work. So the recommendation to just use Chrome is rather counterproductive. Nevertheless, thank you for that. I know you meant well.

But recommending Chrome to someone for convenience is like giving them instructions on how to commit suicide ;-)). Anyone who knows that Chrome has always been and still is and will ever be one of the worst data collectors, which then sends its garbage home in a traceable manner to a country that is in the process of permanently and thoroughly destroying the achievements of the last 80 years with the most brutal wrecking ball, will quickly stay away from this software and all other services associated with this country — a country that has “evolved” from a once shining beacon of freedom into a primitive and corrupt banana republic... People are guaranteed to suffer the consequences of this reckless generosity in handling their personal data — but that's not my problem.

So I like to use the SerialPortConnector-App and still don't have to worry about security. My system has everything under control and it works great – as does the software for the ESC itself, which gives the drive incomparably good characteristics.

A big thank you and a big compliment to the developer.

@MlCHEL1234 The problem is web serial simply is not supported by Firefox period. Its not related to our config tool. Any web page that needs serial access will just not work on Firefox. You dont have to use chrome.. any web browser that can do web serial will work.
