Fully vertical like StartAllBack or Windows 10

Is there any way to have yasb be vertical just like the Windows Taskbar used before Windows 11 or like StartAllBack allows you to?

According to the documentation the position of the status bar can be "top" or "bottom".

I messed around for a bit with the config.yaml and styles.css, but couldn't produce something actually working.
While I got it to look vertical, nothing rendered correctly and also since the alignment can only be top or bottom the usable screen estate was reduced to nothing, as the vertical bar took up the whole screen and programs just rendered below it, practically invisible.

Did anyone work on this already? Is these even possible right now?

No, and I don’t plan to work on vertical bar option. It would require a lot of time and effort, since every single widget would need to be changed to support a different orientation. The bar itself isn’t a big problem, just changing the geometry but everything else is.

I figured that might be the case.

Horizontal bars on widescreen monitors are wasting usable space, especially on ultra wide monitors.
The amount of empty and dead space is severely reduced when using a vertical taskbar.
That's why I switched to vertical taskbar already about 20 years ago when I started using widescreen monitors, shortly after also started using vertical tabs via Tree Style Tabs in Firefox.

I hope one day this feature will be tackled.

Until then I'll stick with StartAllBack and Start11 which both support a vertical orientation, but offer much less features in terms of taskbar customization.
