At work, I write a lot of shell scripts, but I never can remember the correct syntax.
I forget to put quotes around variables or to remove the spaces around the = sign in an assignment.
shellcheck helps me find those bugs on an almost daily basis. It also provides a list of helpful explanations for every problem it finds.
I use it in combination with the shellcheck extension for VScode by Timon Wong here.
