Create a less boring project logo

The current logo is a bit... bland?

None of the maintainers are designers, so we picked something that was simple and functional.
Maybe now is a good time to revamp the look a bit and work on a more distinct branding.

Here are some values that the new logo should convey:

• clear
• distinct
• objective
• analytical (heh)

I don't mind if the logo is a bit playful and colorful, but I wouldn't overdo it.

The font should get some more features/ligatures.
Maybe we can work on the icon. Thought about keeping the gear and maybe combining it with a magnifying glass or so.
In any case, it should work in black and white and stay relatively simple.
FWIW I like the Deepsource logo for example.

We can brainstorm ideas here if you like.

great designs and creative ideas; love it!
I'd like to stick a bit closer to the original logo. Other than playing with ligatures a bit or emphasizing some letters like the "y" in "analysis tools", I'd prefer to stick to a not-too-fancy sans-serif font. Hope that's okay. 😅

I iterated a bit on your ideas and the one in #25 by @nancu so far and came up with some alternations.

The fonts are just bitmaps because it was faster this way.

Very subtle differences, but I'm a bit of a font nerd. 🤓

We might need a few iterations to find a good combination so any feedback is welcome. 😊

Good idea. I tried that. It did not look good. Maybe I have to experiment a bit more.
