LS-DYNA Fails to Run via PyDyna Due to Missing lscasedriver.exe

🐞 Description of the bug

I'm working on a simulation project using LS-DYNA and integrating it with a Python-based workflow using PyDyna. The same .k file runs successfully in GUI (Graphical User Interface) mode, but fails when executed via PyDyna.

from ansys.dyna.core.run import run_dyna
run_dyna("test.k", working_directory=r"../test3")

Error Message (from lsrun.out.txt):
*** Error 10149 (KEY+149)
can find neither internal nor external lscasedriver program
while executing C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v252\ansys\bin\winx64\lsdyna_dp.exe
Execution cannot continue
Try executing with "case" as a command line option (no quotes) to
turn on the built in case handling capability
Warning: can't find "C:\lscasedriver.exe
Will attempt to use lsdyna instead

hello @raj366v , thanks for opening the issue!
Could you please try using the full absolute path for working_directory instead of a relative one?

For example:

from ansys.dyna.core.run import run_dyna

run_dyna(
    "test.k",
    working_directory=r"C:\Users\yourname\Projects\dyna\test3"
)

Using r"../test3" may cause LS-DYNA to fail when resolving files. An absolute path should resolve the issue.

Please let me know after trying this.

I tried that way as suggested, but unfortunately I'm still encountering the same error. Here's the message from my lsrun.out.txt file:

To investigate further, I will attempt to run the simulation locally using the lsdyna_dp.exe executable. If the issue persists, we can explore alternative approaches, such as utilizing the lscasedriver command-line tool, to manage the case control process.

I will keep you updated on my findings.
