additional_switches argument converts characters to lower case

Hello, I am trying to pass additional arguments to MAPDL via the additional_switches parameter for the launch_mapdl command. Here's the full command:

mapdl = pymapdl.launch_mapdl(additional_switches = "-scport 55222 -schost localhost -scname MAPDL-2")

The issue is that one of the arguments, namely MAPDL-2, is case-sensitive, so I would like the case to be preserved. However, it appears that PyMAPDL converts everything to lower case, so it comes out as mapdl-2.

Is there a way to preserve the case? If not, would it be possible to add an option to allow that?

You are right.

I have identified two places where this conversion is done:

• pymapdl/src/ansys/mapdl/core/launcher.py

  Line 865 in 5040f12

  add_sw = add_sw.lower()

• pymapdl/src/ansys/mapdl/core/launcher.py

  Line 922 in 5040f12

  add_sw = add_sw.lower()

I shall work on this. And there is no way to bypass them.

If you have not issues with MPI or using the student version, you could comment those lines in your local installation. I will fix this soon, but I'm not expecting any patch release anytime soon.
