Translating the app - how?

I remember there was a post or issue about translating the app, but i cannot find it now.
Also last time there was issue where words were without a context, so it was hard to translate. For example "Schema" can have different translation based on context, so is the context now known the for the translations?

To add to this: for example for Dutch (nl-NL), I see that some lines are not translated. Would the goal be to translate as much as possible to native (e.g. Dutch) words? We use a lot of anglicism, but most can be translated. I can also imagine that words that are common in IT and normally not translated, are also not translated here (e.g. Service Pack, router, query).

Before I start creating pull request, maybe it good to have an answer for the question of @d-simeonov and a bit of guideline what to translate and what not.
