Not return id for merge

The first time the function return id as long:

SELECT *
FROM cypher('main', $$merge (a:test) return id(a)$$)
         as (res agtype);

res
1

In the next time with same return the result that match would have match:

res
{"id": 1, "label": "test", "properties": {}}::vertex

Where is my mistake.

• All queries you execute, with their output
• The result you expect

First time db is empty:

Executed:

SELECT *
FROM cypher('main', $$merge (a:test) return id(a)$$)
         as (res agtype);

received	expected
111	111

---

Now, one node in the db.
Executed:

SELECT *
FROM cypher('main', $$merge (a:test) return id(a)$$)
         as (res agtype);

received	expected
{"id": 111, "label": "test", "properties": {}}::vertex	111

I don't see what the issue is here. From what I can tell, MERGE is acting exactly as it should, provided your example -

Could you state what you are expecting and why the output isn't as you expected? If you can add additional examples, that would be helpful.

I'm sorry if I don't understand.
neo4j which I use now, just returns as I described above.
I can't understand why the object id is returned on the first call to the merge, and on the next calls return the object.
