Restructure Grails-Core repository

Per discussion we have agreed to move the following into grails-core:

1. grails-async
2. grails-testing-support for non-gorm based testing

I was able to import grails-async's project history into the grails-core repository (locally) with the following commands:

git remote add async git@github.com:grails/grails-async.git
git fetch async
git merge -s ours --no-commit --allow-unrelated-histories async/6.0.x
git read-tree --prefix=grails-async/ -u async/6.0.x
git commit -m "Imported grails-async"

But when I started testing includeBuild approach to keep the build isolated, I ran into these issues:

• Properties defined in 'gradle.properties' should be passed down to child builds gradle/gradle#2534 - which is easy enough to work around by importing properties in the child project's settings.gradle
• --include-build + com.gradle.enterprise fails with strange error message gradle/gradle#22521 - which prevents using includeBuild for our projects.

This means we'll likely have to just use include in the grails projects.

At a high level, here's what needs to happen for any migrations:

1. Clean up the project to use the same dependency management as grails core (async uses version catalogs while core does not)
2. Remove buildSrc in the project to facilitate easier moves
3. Clean up the gh-pages branch in the child project
4. Import the code history into the default branch
5. Import the pages branch into the gh-pages branch
6. Remove old .github folders in child project
7. Move child project's gradle projects into root
8. Update any includes / references

1. grails-core in the grails-events , grails-async , and grails-test-examples folders

Project Restructure Plan

• Note:
  • ✅ Scaffolding & fields have been decoupled over the past week so they are no longer be required for views
  • ✅ grails-async has been decoupled from views, etc and can now be moved to core
  • ✅ grails-views was decoupled from the gradle plugin
• Pre-reqs:
  • ✅ grails-testing-support needs to be split into 2 separate repos; one for gorm and one for grails-core. this removes the grails-data-mapping dependency which means grails views could be moved into core
• Grails Core should have:
  • ✅ grails-async (move to core) - #13552 Merge grails-async into grails-core #13955
  • ✅ grails-testing-support (grails-core only logic) - #13552 Integrate grails-testing-support from grails/grails-testing-support into grails-core #13975
  • ✅ grails-plugin-converters (move to core) - #13552 Converters repo merge #13963
• Combine the views stack into one repo (maybe this should be in core even)
  • ✅ grails-plugin-sitemesh3 (move to gsp) - Merge sitemesh3 grails plugin into grails-gsp grails/grails-gsp#562
  • ✅ grails-gsp (keep separate)
  • ✅ grails-web-testing-support (move to gsp) - #13552 Integrate grails-web-testing-support from grails/grails-testing-support into grails-gsp grails/grails-gsp#564
  • ✅ grails-views (requires testing support split) (keep separate)
• Grails Data Mapping should have:
  • ✅ grails-testing-support (data-mapping only logic) - #13552 Integrate grails-gorm-testing-support from grails/grails-testing-support into grails-data-mapping grails-data-mapping#1864
  • gorm-hibernate5 (move to data mapping, docs already publish to gh-pages branch in datamapping)
  • gorm-mongodb (move to data mapping, docs already publish to gh-pages branch in datamapping)
