NetBeans 26 on Mac: double-click in general doesn't work?

I feel vaguely stupid for even asking this but I know what I'm seeing!

I'm running NetBeans 26 on my Apple silicon Mac with the FlatLAF Light look and feel.

Briefly: double-clicking any folder in the projects window—double clicking in general, actually—simply doesn't work. It didn't work in NetBeans 25 either. (Right-clicking and selecting, e.g., Open works fine.)

How should I proceed to debug this? Should I file an issue? (I don't see evidence that anyone else has this problem.) This smells like some corrupted setting somewhere.

I do not use NetBeans as a power user, so I haven't done anything strange or drastic.

Will do. Interestingly this appears to happen only when I'm using a magic mouse, not when I'm actually using my Mac's touchpad. I'm beginning to think there's a Swing regression.

if you think this is a swing regression, you could test starting NB on a different JDK (17, 21 and 24 would be supported for NB 26).

simply add --jdkhome /path/to/jdk and launch netbeans with it.

But it being connected to the magic mouse is an interesting detail for sure.

Back from vacation. It is indeed correlated with my use of a Magic Mouse. If I launch NetBeans on my Mac and use the built-in trackpad everything works fine. JVM does not appear to make a difference.
