Enhancement Request

Currently, all POM files in the main branch are versioned (2.0.7-SNAPSHOT0.
This prevents clean merge and updates on the 3.x branch, as git conflicts arise
for every POM file that's versioned.

This prevents maintenance or updates of 3.x branch without making further conflicts.

Describe the solution you'd like

Rename all versions in POM files to 999-SNAPSHOT.
Change Jenkins to deploy with the <release>.next-SNAPSHOT version that's automatically configured.
In other words, if the latest release is 2.0.6, then next SNAPSHOT release would automatically computed to 2.0.7-SNAPSHOT
