Phone requirement on Discord

Hello,

It'd be nice if it didn't require a phone verification to post on the discord server. I don't share my phone with websites and I'd still like to be able to participate in the community. I'm sure I'm not alone with privacy concerns in a community that tends to attract engineers of all sorts.
Spam issues on discord are fairly easily solvable with the free bots you can add to your server if that's a concern.

I agree that it's not great to require a phone number. I'll talk with the other admins to see if we can relax this condition.

+1 for this. I haven't had to provide this on other DIscords that I'm on, including the HF/Pollen ones.
There's gotta be a way around this.
