[Request]: Rethink socket class

It's bad, and I take partial responsibility 😆 I wonder if we even need it anymore, or could wrap NIO sockets. Having access to the underlying fd is needed for us, so maybe just a small trampoline of us creating the socket and passing it to NIO, and.... still using the fd when needed for things like fd passing for UDS.
