How "Report Input Values" can be used in report's query

I have a query with 2 parameters (from, to). I want these parameters to be injected inside report's query.
How can I use "Report Input Values" Collection from General?
I use SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE StartTime>={CommonValue_from} AND EndTime<={CommonValue_to}
but it throws error because parameters are NULL

Do not mismatch Input Values and Common Values:
Input values must be used in a task script
Common Values are configured in the model dedicated collection
