Today i've find new version of Quansheng UV-K6/UV-K5(8) with 512kb for firmware, and it's look like you can finnally assambly a one big firmware with all features :) Did you see this version? Not quite. The Quansheng K5 uses an N32G030 microcontroller, a 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 chip with only 64 KB of flash memory. As I’ve explained several times, please don’t confuse EEPROM (used for storing settings, calibration data, and memory channels) with the flash memory of the microcontroller, which is where the firmware is both stored and executed. 😌 These are two completely different things. To put it simply: even if you modify or upgrade the EEPROM, the microcontroller still has only 64 KB of flash memory available for the firmware. That's a hard limit. Armel, F4HWN |
