[TIP]: Hyprland Users Float swayimg!

After many hours of playing with swayimg in Hyprland, I came to realize, that if you want to make a menu entry in rofi, and start it this way, it will always open up in full screen, unless you have another application/window running.

The Solution - At least I think it is... LOL 🤪

FLOAT the UI! 👍

windowrulev2 = float, class:^(swayimg)$
windowrulev2 = size 50% 55%, class:^(swayimg)$
windowrulev2 = center, class:^(swayimg)$

And here it is, swayimg listed in rofi, to start from the menu;

And here it is, swayimg, the only App/UI running under Hyprland! 👍

@0pLuS0 could you test disabling the float windowrule and see if Hyprland still opens swayimg as a floating window? Recently got a bug and not sure if that's an issue with my config. using windowrules to forcefully tile it don't work

Hi @Dinesh-58 no it doesn't, it opens normal, full screen.

Strange. I set compositor = no in swayimg's config and that fixed swayimg constantly opening in floating mode

If you're using Wayland, it should be on Yes.

Integrate with Wayland compositor (Sway/Hyprland only)
compositor = yes

You'd have to have a window rule for it to float. Apps don't float automatically in Hyprland.

Yeah i did see the comment saying it should be set to yes for Hyprland. I couldn't find anything in my hyprland config that might be causing it to float though
