Currently, plot_ridge uses KDEs, as in the "standard" definition of ridge plots. But we can generalize it to support other representations, ecdf should be easy, and maybe we could also add histograms and quantile dot plots.
We could also add point-interval and/or some other representation for the mean/median and quantiles, like different shades for the fill.
