API for adding text labels

The current API draft does not include any mechanism for adding text labels to image views.

• Should a mechanism for adding text be part of the API?

IIRC, we decided the answer to this was "no" at STScI. I didn't see any notes in the API proposal about it though, other than a thread noting it is technically possible in the current backends.

The decision not to add this now was motivated in part by the can of worms that gets opened if text can be added: fonts, sizes, text justification, rotation, ....

I think I propose deferring this to 2.0.

For future reference: The POC on Imviz was spacetelescope/jdaviz#2559 . So technically it is not hard to implement but Imviz never go around to exposing it via GUI.
