How to re-float a visualization window? #1552

Left-click-hold its title bar, i.e. the bar that says "VU Meter", then drag and drop it somewhere else either on Audacious' main window or outside as a separate window. If you move it carefully, Audacious' main window highlights the area where you can drop it at the left, the right, the top and the bottom. |

Is there a way to do this with the playlist itself? I've been stuck using the "classic" interface for years, because the GTK/Qt interface locks the playlist into the same window with the playback controls. I'd much rather have them separate. |

The problem is that the playlist is what Qt calls the "central widget" that the various sidebars dock to. It is sadly not possible to avoid having a "central widget" (I tried it already in the early days, as being able to undock the playlist would be helpful for some people). |

Hi, when I first installed and launched Audacious, the VU Meter visualization opened in a floating window I could position where I wanted on the desktop (Linux Mint 21). Somehow I dragged it into the program's main window and it's stuck there above the playlists. How can I get it back to a floating window? Thank you!
