[Windows 11] How to get Audacious's volume slider to stop resetting everytime it's open?

Since last November give or take, everytime I re-open Audacious (After I restart my PC for example), the volume slider is reset back to 100%. I have tried to look into this but cannot find any settings in the app which would be related and cannot find anyone else online asking about this. I also tried this on a new Windows installation and it still occurs. I am not sure if it's a app bug, Windows bug, or intentional. If it is possible to change that would be great.

If needed, I am on OS version 26100.3476.

Which output plugin do you use?
-> Audacious Settings -> Audio -> Output Settings

Does it occur with default settings?
-> Rename the folder C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\audacious while Audacious is not running.

I use the Win32 waveOut plugin, and yes it still happens with the default settings. I renamed the folder while it was not running, restarted it, changed my volume, closed it and when I re-opened Audacious it still reset to 100%.

Ok, unfortunately I'm out of ideas then. Since it works fine on my Windows 11 test setup.

I recently migrated to a new PC with Windows 11 dual-boot, but I practically never use Windows and I have not set up Audacious on it yet. So I cannot test at the moment, sorry.

Yeah I'm not sure what's up. My laptop does not experience this issue on W11 so I am wondering if a driver is conflicting. I have a 14900K with the up to date drivers for that and my laptop has a 5625U, but I honestly have no idea.

here's a potentially unpopular suggestion for @radioactiveman : drop support for winBLOWS altogether - it's a privacy hating, anti-free PoS OS and supporting it can only encourage people to keep using it

that aside, having 2 volume controls for a single program can be confusing - one built in to the program and another in the system mixer - personally i i have no use for the in-app volume control, but perhaps there's certain use cases i'm not considering???

With Windows 11 Pro and the official .EXE installer of Audacious, the volume slider is NOT reset to 100% here. Not either after rebooting. It's necessary to start playback, though, for the volume slider to show the actual level.

Unrelated: Only thing I've noticed is all numeric up/down boxes are not wide enough, but that's a GUI issue.
