The MPRIS plugin is enabled by default. You must have disabled it explicitly sometime before. If you didn't know the plugin's purpose, why did you disable it in the first place? I think instead of renaming the plugin we should just add an info dialog, giving more information for users. Do you have a suggestion for the text? Edit: Implemented with audacious-media-player/audacious-plugins@9064def. |

Synopsis
While trying to get media key controls (e.g., play/pause from my laptop keyboard or wireless headphones gestures) to work with Audacious, I initially thought it wasn’t supported.
After some research, I discovered that I had to manually enable the plugin called “MPRIS 2 Server”.
For someone who isn't familiar with the MPRIS protocol or doesn’t look up every plugin, this name is quite unclear and doesn’t hint at its functionality. I believe this creates a barrier for casual users or new adopters of Audacious.
Suggestion
Please consider renaming the “MPRIS 2 Server” plugin to something more descriptive, such as:
This also applies to translated versions of the app — for example, in Russian.
This would make it easier for users to discover and enable the functionality without needing to dive into technical documentation or trial and error.
