Why my audacious can't display lyrics?

Here is my setting:

Both music and its lyrics in the same directory.

cd  /tmp/target
ls
sample.lrc  sample.mp3

Play sample.mp3.

No lyrics displayed!

According to your screenshot of the General Plugins section, your installation of Audacious is missing the Lyrics plugin. The "LIRC" plugin is not related to Lyrics, but to infrared remote control devices.

As mentioned, LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control) has nothing in common with lyrics.

Audacious 4.2 is also very old. Back then the lyrics plugins was only compatible with the Qt version of Audacious.
For GTK you need Audacious 4.4 or later.
