eventSourceRef failing to find SQS queue

    message: Reference resolution failed
    reason: no matches for kind "Cluster" in version "kafka.services.k8s.aws/v1alpha1"
    status: Unknown
    type: ACK.ReferencesResolved

Note that I don't have the Kafka controller installed.

Steps to reproduce
Apply following manifest:

apiVersion: lambda.services.k8s.aws/v1alpha1
kind: EventSourceMapping
metadata:
  name: lambda-queue-mapping
spec:
  eventSourceRef:
    from:
      name: my-queue    # confirmed this is an existing Queue object
  functionRef:
    from:
      name: my-function  # confirmed this is an existing Function object

Expected outcome
This should create an EventSourceMapping with the specified Queue object attached to the provided Function.

Environment

• Kubernetes version

  • Client Version: v1.32.2
  • Kustomize Version: v5.5.0
  • Server Version: v1.32.9-eks-113cf36

• Using EKS 1.32

• AWS service targeted: SQS, Lambda

It's not too big a deal to just install the Kafka controller, but then Im wondering if this means I also need to install all the other controller types supported by eventSourceRef?

FYI, in my case I can predict the queue ARN, so I was able to workaround this issue using eventSourceARN, which was able to properly recognize the SQS arn.
