InstanceId failing

Even cross-checking more than three times, the queueid provided still crashes, stating that it might be wrong.
fun fact, I've used three different queue id, from the same instance, 1 of 3 works .

The import code tries to enumerate the queues using the instance id provided in the configuration file (see line 123 in wallboard-import.py). I've added an extra print statement so that it will show the exception rather than just saying that it may be incorrect. That will help you debug why that call is failing.

It could be failing because of a permissions problem - your local credentials may not have access to enumerate Connect objects. That's ok - even if the call fails the identifiers will still be put into the configuration in the database; the warning is there just in case they are actually incorrect.

Very good work there Brettles, sorry i am a newbie to this stuff, I am a bit confused regarding the templates, do I need only one template or can I use multiple templates as shown in the blog.

For each unique wallboard "design" that you want you should have a single template. That wallboard can be displayed on as many screens as you want by specifying which design/template name you would like to see.

You can have multiple templates - because you might want to have the same set of data (or even different sets of data) from one or more Connect instances displayed in different ways for different groups of people. For example, one customer had a "main" wallboard which showed details of all of their queues; but then had about a dozen "smaller" wallboards (all different) - one for each team. And the team members displayed those on their own PC screens.

I believe I have successfully loaded the wallboard configuration files by running the following in Pycharm

My guess here is that the import process did not work (and I'm basing that on the errors you've shown) - everything else (including the curl calls look fine to me.

While I've never tried running the import process on Windows there's nothing in there that is OS-specific so it should be totally fine. What concerns me are the warning messages that you're getting - the import should run "clean". That is, you shouldn't see anything at all if it succeeds.

My follow up question is where do i upload the wallboard-example.html I have tried checking the API Gateway but i can't see where to upload the file.

Great to hear you got it working! I'll check the code and find out why it doesn't work on Windows... The blog post is a little old right now but still valid - the main page of this repo has updates to new things that have been added since the blog went live.

For hosting the HTML - that can go anywhere you like, it's completely up to you. Some customers have web servers on their internal networks; others choose to embed the returned <table>....</table> in pages that they already have.

If you wanted to go totally AWS you could host the HTML file on S3 although I'd also use CloudFront to provide HTTPS (encryption in transit) support. If you search for "hosting a website on AWS" I'm sure you'll get a lot of information. That said, doing so makes your wallboard publicly available unless you put some sort of authentication on it - so do think carefully about that.
