cdk-helper local bundling support for Windows

I'm using cdk version 2.39.1 (build f188fac). I noticed that I cannot bundle on a Windows platform.

[INFO]  cdk-helper      local bundling is not supported for Windows
jsii.errors.JavaScriptError: 
  Error: Failed to bundle asset

Is there a workaround for this?
Is this something that is going to be addressed in the future?
