How can I implement searching users by geolocation

I am developing an react native app with amplify where I want to implement so you can list out the nearest users to you .

I have used aws for developing my app for a month now and so far the documentation has been clear.

But when it comes to using geolocation there are some things I do not understand. Such as this

Geo.searchByCoordinates([longitudePoint, latitudePoint]) (https://docs.amplify.aws/lib/geo/search/q/platform/js/#search-by-coordinates) . I understand how to search but I dont understand the part how you set up the data (profiles) to search from .Will it search through dynamoDB. What do I need to implement for my users to be returned on search. Right now my users are verifying themselves through cognito and then they create a profile with coordinates which is stored in dynamodb.

Hi @xXx1337xXx , I assume your question is more related to core aws service amplify and not cdk. It would be great if you could explain how this relates to cdk

You are probably right. I thought you had to use the amazon cdk to implement this.

You should be able to get support from amplify on github, as they are also open source https://github.com/aws-amplify
