Use existing S3 Bucket to deploy app using aws-amplify-alpha

Question

Is it possible to deploy a Amplify app using an existing S3 Bucket?

Context

In the Amplify console, I can use an existing S3 Bucket as a source for my app:

In the docs, I see that I can add a branch to deploy S3 assets.

From what I understand, in order to do that, I would have to

• have the files local first
• use aws_s3_assets to upload the local files to S3
• pass in the asset created into amplify.add_branch.

But what I want to do is:

Create a bucket:

class MyConstruct(Construct):

  self.ui_bucket = s3.Bucket(
    self,
    "UserInterfaceBucket",
    bucket_name=ui_bucket_name,
 )

# … stuff happens to populate the ui_bucket

And then use that Bucket as the asset for Amplify:

amplify_app = amplify.App(self, "MyApp")
amplify_app.add_branch("dev", asset=self.ui_bucket.s3_url_for_object)

Mimicking the AWS Console.

Is that possible?
