[Feature Request] Option to disable CW Agent

[Current situation]

The head node and compute nodes have cloudwatch agents installed and preconfigured. The agents push metrics to CloudWatch, being potentially a cost driver without necessary much value for "stable" runs which rarely fail.

You are able to disable cloudwatch monitoring in the Monitoring section of the cluster config.

In this case the customer wants to have logs in CloudWatch Logs. And it seems this setting is controlling this:

The CloudWatch Logs settings for the cluster.

Is it possible to have logs without having metrics for the compute nodes? Potentially disabling it also for Head and Login nodes?

If not, then the Feature Request would ask for more granular control or some guidance on how to accomplish this. Thank you!

You can use Alarms under Monitoring to disable metrics
