Upgrade parallel cluster cloudformation stack?

We were recently advised that python 3.9 lambdas in PC 3.11.1 will be end of life for lambdas on 15 Dec 2025. Thus then raises the question: how do you upgrade a parallel cluster cloudformation stack to a newer release? Or is it the case you can't upgrade and need to delete and recreate the parallel cluster stack under a newer version? I could not find this in the documentation and most searches returned information about pcluster update-cluster. If this is documented somewhere please point me at the docs, otherwise can you document what is required in the official docs?

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the Lambda Python version. ParallelCluster will include the update in the next release

if you are referring to the ParallelCluster provider for the CloudFormation custom resource, that runtime has been upgraded to Python 3.12 in ParallelCluster 3.12.0 (1962438)

We have upgraded the Python runtime version to 3.12 for Lambdas with AWS ParallelCluster 3.14.0
