PS5 controller doesnt work

Followed the instructions, PS5 simply doesnt work - however in the settings it did pick up PS4 controller... still nothing works

UPDATE: I got my DualSense wired over USB-C to work - love that it has the correct glyphs! 🎮 I had a few issues to iron out:

1. I accidentally downloaded the GitHub HTML instead of the raw file itself
2. I assumed we were supposed to turn Steam Input off - when I turned it on, it worked (I didn't see anything in the README about whether Steam Input is supposed to be on or off?)

I found the product ID of my DualSense controller (0x0ce6) in macOS System Information.

The PS5DualSense.plist already has 3302 so there wasn't anything to change:

        <key>ProductID</key>
        <integer>3302</integer>

any other ideas to get BT working?

tried moving the plist into the Digital folder and no dice. Still only works wired.

As much as I'd love to get BT working - I'm happy your plist gets my DualSense working wired which is middle ground for a 2013 game so I'm fine with it.

@joebentaylor1995 have you gotten it to work wired? If so, this issue probably should be closed.

@udance4ever maybe the controller needs a firmware update? No idea how that works on PlayStation though.

it sounds like a Steam issue. This is the statement I got from Feral Interactive back in Nov 2024 getting Sleeping Dogs to work:

Please also note that if playing a Steam version of the game, you may have to connect the controller via USB cable in order to function correctly. We are currently investigating this issue, which is believed to be due to a change in the way that Steam recognises the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

@udance4ever I can click on my xbox controller in that menu even when it's not connected, maybe try it when not connected.

What macOS are you on? maybe this menu issue is a macos bug that's already fixed.

yeah I would def say it's a macOS bug.

im on 15.5.

The DualSense is working wired for Feral ported games and wireless for everything else.

If I get a chance, I'll file a bug report w Apple. It may take awhile & you might not even hear from them but I'm glad they actually fix things :)

hey interesting news - for some reason my DualSense works over BT on Tomb Raider!

I didn't change anything to my configuration (and didn't reboot) so not sure why it decided to work.

but as quickly as it worked, now it doesn't so go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you try disabling steam input? Or restart mac?

What's the productID of the controller when wired and when wireless?

You can see the details in system report.

Is firmware updated? VMware fusion might work if no windows.
