Seeing as Eluna has system access and can do IO ops, one can effectively do this fully through a Lua script as well (although not quite as lean as with the diff). Here's an example approach:

-- This script caches the size of the directory it is placed in, to see if there has been any changes to the Lua scripts therein.
-- Place it in the root folder of your Lua scripts to have it reload Eluna on changing your scripts.
