Using cucumber-preprocessor with cypress-cloud overrides the cucumber json with only the last spec results

We are trying to use cypress-cloud (https://currents.dev/readme/integration-with-cypress/cypress-cloud)for running our cypress cucumber tests. We are able to run our tests in AWS cloud, but the cucumber json file gets overridden for every spec run and the json file contains only the last spec run result. We tried using cypress-on-fix too, but no luck so far. Can you please assist on the usage of cypress on fix, so that both the event listener is invoked and retains the run results for every spec run. Below is our code snippet of cypress.config.js. [ADDED] tag in code denotes places where our changes are included.
