Customizable Items not showing in Visual Editor

Customizable Items are not rendered on the storefront when the product page is built using Visual Editor.
They work correctly with the default (non-Visual) product view.

How to reproduce the bug

Create a product

Add a Customizable Item (text field / checkbox / dropdown)

Display the product using Visual Editor

Customizable Item does not appear on the frontend

It look like customizable items is a feature from bagisto marketplace extension according to the documentation https://docs.bagisto.com/multi-vendor-marketplace/product-management.html#customizable-item.

Can you please confirm that you are using the marketplace extension ?

Hi,

I’m using core Bagisto only, without the Marketplace extension or any other extensions.

In a simple product, it is possible to configure a Customizable Item, which renders correctly on the storefront when using the default theme.

However, when the same product is displayed using the Visual Debut theme, the Customizable Item is not rendered at all.

So the issue seems specific to Visual Editor / Visual Debut, not Marketplace.

You are right, my confusion came from looking at the configurable product form, but after checking the simple product form, customizable items are indeed part of core Bagisto.

We will implement support for this in the Visual Debut theme.

Hi, thank you for the fix — after testing, I can confirm that the Customizable Item is now rendering correctly on the product page. I would like to report a few additional things I noticed: When a product has a Customizable Item, it would be good if this information was also displayed further in the purchase flow — in the cart, mini-cart, and generally anywhere the product is displayed. Ideally, this should work the same way as in the default Bagisto theme. It would also be helpful if this information was shown later on in the order details / invoice. The default theme already supports this, so it would be great if the Visual Debut theme did as well. I also noticed that products are displaying the Short Description twice — both at the top and at the bottom of the page — while the bottom section should display the full Description instead. I agree that this should ideally behave the same way as the default theme. I will treat this as a separate follow-up improvement.

Support for Customizable Items has now been fully implemented across the purchase flow in Visual Debut, including the cart, mini-cart, checkout summary, and order details, matching the behavior of the default Bagisto theme.

To get the fix, please update the packages using:

composer update bagistoplus/visual bagistoplus/visual-debut -W

Hi, thanks for the update. I ran the suggested composer update successfully, but unfortunately I’m not seeing the changes yet. The behavior still appears to be the same as before — customizable items are not visible across the purchase flow (cart / mini-cart / order details). I’ve cleared cache and re-tested with existing and new products, but the result is unchanged. Please let me know if there’s anything else I should check or if an additional step is required. Hi, just to clarify from my side: after running the suggested update command, my installation was still using Visual Debut v1.5.0, so at first I didn’t see any changes. For some reason, the package wasn’t automatically upgraded to v1.6.0. After manually upgrading to Visual Debut v1.6.0, I can confirm that the changes are now working correctly and customizable items are properly displayed throughout the purchase flow. While doing further testing, I noticed one small remaining issue: on the checkout page, the cart summary does not currently display the customizable item information. In all other places, everything works as expected. Thanks a lot for your work and the quick fix.
