Balena local flash failing

Hi

I’ve checked the Balena CLI on my Windows 11 machine and encountered the following error:

D:\samples\balenaCLI\balena-cli>balena local flash "D:\openwrt-200\openwrt-200.img"

Hello and thank you for your report.

After further investigation, we found out this issue is incoming from a NodeJS bug: nodejs/node#55623

The bug has been solved for nodejs 24 (not yet stable) and not yet backported to node 22. We will update the CLI (with a fix) once upstream nodejs 24 is stable or backported.

Hello, this issue has been fixed on v22.4.10 of the cli. Kind reminder that if you are using the balena cli via the npm intallation method (npm i -g balena-cli) this method uses the system level node binary instead of the one shipped with balena-cli and thus would require node to be of version ^22.20 || > 24 to work, all other installation methods should have this fix out of the box.
