Background highlighting does not reevaluate upon loading file with C-c C-l as it should

When some code is highlighted, e.g. in red or yellow indicating some sort of error, and the error in question is fixed, reloading the file should reevaluate what text is highlighted. In version 5.7 this works as expected, in later versions it does not.

This is not solved on 0.6.3, but it's a heisenbug: every time I try to reproduce it it stops happening. Once in a while the background highlighting persists after reloading until I close the file. Please reopen.

Seconded. The highlighting also goes away after deleting text, even after undoing, so C-a backspace C-z (select all, delete, undo) does remove all highlighting but is a pain.

The highlighting of the whole token will be deleted, it's the intended design at the moment, because the highlighting information is only available on load.

Undo/redo is another story though, tried to implement it in VS Code but floundered real bad 😭
