hacktribe revert

Hey guys,
Hoping someone can help me out — I've been stuck on this for a while now.

My situation:

I have a blue Electribe 2 Synth (E2)

I previously installed Hacktribe successfully

Now I'm trying to reinstall Hacktribe or revert to the original Korg firmware

The Electribe still shows Synth oscillators (Saw, Pulse, Triangle) — no sampler features

I'm using the SD card path:

KORG/hacktribe/System/SYSTEM.VSB
I’ve tried:

Stock SYSTEM.VSB from Korg with header patched to E2S2 (Synth)

Sampler header (E2SS)

Hybrid header (E2SH)

Reinstalling Hacktribe using e2-firmware-patch.py

Each time I go to Menu > Data Utility > Software Update, it says:

Invalid File
Everything on the SD card is correct (FAT32, folder structure, file name). The Electribe reads the file but refuses to update, no matter what header or firmware version I use.

Is there a way to reset the bootloader ID, force an update, or fully wipe Hacktribe metadata?

Appreciate any help — I’ve tried everything and really don’t want to lose this box

I think the synth-revert-SYSTEM.VSB from https://github.com/bangcorrupt/hacktribe-tutorial should work, just rename it to SYSTEM.VSB
