🔍 Findings Summary

❌ ISOLATION ISSUES CONFIRMED

The current implementation does NOT properly isolate agent message history. Here are the specific problems:

1. No Agent ID in Backend Storage

• Claude Code history files (RawHistoryLine interface) don't include agentId field
• Conversations are stored only by project directory, not by originating agent
• Result: Multiple agents working in same directory share conversation history

2. Fragile Keyword-Based Filtering

• Frontend uses keyword matching against agent working directories (AgentDetailView.tsx:133-155)
• Filters projects by partial string matches instead of explicit agent attribution
• Result: Agents may see conversations from other agents with similar directory names

3. Missing Backend Agent Filtering

• /api/agent-histories/:encodedProjectName returns ALL conversations from a project
• No agentId parameter to filter conversations by originating agent
• Result: No server-side isolation enforcement

4. Cross-Contamination Scenarios

• Agent A working in /project/frontend could see conversations from Agent B also working in /project/frontend
• Keyword filtering could match unrelated projects if directory names overlap
• No verification that loaded conversations actually originated from the requesting agent

🎯 Recommendation

The spec requirement is not being met. Each agent should only show their own message history, but the current implementation allows cross-agent conversation visibility.

Priority Fix Needed: Implement proper agent ID attribution in conversation storage and add backend filtering by agent ID.

Backend Changes:

• Enhanced Data Models: Added agentId field to all conversation interfaces (ConversationSummary, ConversationHistory, RawHistoryLine, ConversationFile)
• Smart Parser Updates: Modified conversation parser to extract and preserve agent ID from conversation messages
• API Filtering: Enhanced /api/agent-histories/:encodedProjectName to accept ?agentId= query parameter for server-side filtering
• Metadata Preservation: Updated conversation grouping and metadata calculation to maintain agent attribution

Frontend Changes:

• Proper API Integration: Updated useRemoteAgentHistory hook to pass agent ID when fetching histories
• URL Generation: Modified getAgentHistoriesUrl to include agent ID as query parameter
• Component Updates: Updated AgentDetailView to pass agent ID for proper filtering
• Removed Fragile Logic: Eliminated unreliable keyword-based filtering in favor of backend agent filtering
• Cache Isolation: Enhanced cache isolation with agent-specific cache keys (${projectId}:${agentId})
