Access KAMAL_* environment variables in Dockerfile

Hello, everyone. I want to find out if I can access the KAMAL_* environment variables during the build process. I'm building the frontend of the application and need to send the application version to Sentry, specifically using KAMAL_VERSION.

Hi yes, some are available automatically. Others you have to pass them along as build args to Docker. KAMAL_VERSION is amongst the ones readily available.

I recently had this same question over here and found a workaround if wanting KAMAL_ variables that are not yet available #1635.

I think this is the full list supplied at the moment without "doing something more".

• KAMAL_CONTAINER_NAME
• KAMAL_VERSION
• KAMAL_HOST

I think there has been a small miss-understanding. The variables mentioned by Tom are available at runtime, not at buildtime.
