shut off transparency

Is there any way to shut off transparency for all windows in Omarchy. I've set opacity to 1 and that works for the active window but when I move off the window that does not have focus goes transparent again which is annoying for videos.

im assuming you have it set like windowrule = opacity 1 1, class:.* right? As for some other apps like nvim, I think you have to go in the config and change their transparency.

on the newest version (Omarchy 3.3.3) this doesn't work anymore.

I've been using SUPER+BACKSPACE which shuts off transparency on the active window. I gave up on finding a permanent solution.

I just encountered this issue as well.

Remove the following line:
windowrule = opacity 1 1, class:.*

Then, inside the decoration section, add:
active_opacity = 2.0
inactive_opacity = 2.0
fullscreen_opacity = 2.0

this solution semi works... it messes up with the borders. They all become just white.

I posted over in issues too. Jamerrq had made a post about making all the media type apps non transparent. He pointed me to .local/share/omarchy/default/hypr/apps/system.conf and I added firefox to the window rule line. It works fine but I'll probably have to add it again after the next update.

Yes adding a class is another way too, I did that with steam. I'm fairly new so we will see if we have to add it back to the conf files after an update.

I don't really know what I'm doing so I just added firefox to this line. You could probably add steam also.

This is how I disable transparency for all apps:

# .config/hypr/hyprland.conf
windowrule = opacity 1 1, match:class .*

In Omarchy 3.3.3 the location was .config/hypr/looknfeel.conf

On Omarchy 3.3.3 and later, replace

windowrule = opacity 1 1, class:.*`

with

windowrule = match:class .*, opacity 1 1

in looknfeel.conf
