Built-in IME setup before/after installation?

I wonder if there's built in support to set up IME?

I tried setting up double pinyin for zh_cn using rime by referring to the Arch Linux doc without success. It's a pain to read that doc as it's very unopinionated... it would be nice if there's an opinionated setup Ottb.

I would appreciate any pointer to a good resource. Thank you in advance.

Managed to get what I wanted using fcitx5 and Rime.

1. Install the fcitx5 family of packages

sudo pacman -Syu fcitx5 fcitx5-rime fcitx5-configtool fcitx5-gtk fcitx5-qt fcitx5-chinese-addons fcitx5-table-other

2. Run fcitx5-configtool and set Rime as an input method.

3. For 小鹤双拼, copy the schema from https://github.com/rime/rime-double-pinyin/blob/master/double_pinyin_flypy.schema.yaml and then activate double_pinyin_flypy:

rime_deployer --add-schema double_pinyin_flypy
rime_deployer --set-active-schema double_pinyin_flypy
rime_deployer --build ~/.local/share/fcitx5/rime /usr/share/rime-data
