Improving the Hyprland experience in Omarchy with Dropdown terminal.

Hi all,

I am missing a bit of functionality in Omarchy, namely a drop down terminal for Hyprland. See this script for example:

Hope this can be in Omarchy as well!

This was my simple solution for a dropdown terminal (add to your .config/hypr/bindings.conf):

# drop down terminal
windowrulev2 = workspace special,class:(dropdown.terminal)
windowrulev2 = opacity 0.80, class:(dropdown.terminal)
exec-once = ghostty --class=dropdown.terminal
unbind = , F12
bindd = , F12, Global Terminal, togglespecialworkspace

You'll have to restart, and then on F12 it will toggle the special workspace with ghostty on it.

i have tried this approach i get the dropdown with no terminal here is what i have in my bindings config for this

It looks like hyprland 0.53 broke it, I fixed it with this:

# drop down terminal
windowrule {
  name = windowrule-dropdown-terminal
  workspace = special:terminal
  match:class = (special.terminal)
  opacity = 0.80
}

exec-once = ghostty --class=special.terminal
unbind = , F12
bindd = , F12, Global Terminal, togglespecialworkspace, terminal

i tried this one it did not work either. i have added my system info incase its a version issue. is they anything i can do to try to debug this sorry im new to hyperland

UPDATE:: looks like there was an update today that fixed it thank you for your help
