Copy Paste across Workspaces not working

What's wrong?

When I copy long text in one workspace, then switch to another workspace and paste it.
I do not paste. I have to manually go to clipboard history and select it then i can paste

by "switch" do you mean "close"? or are BOTH windows open?

Sorry for confusion. Here I am talking about switching the workspaces.
Assume I have Code Editor running in Workspace 1, Terminal running in workspace 2.
When I copy something from terminal and switch to workspace 1.
In this flow The paste do not work. I have to manually select from clipboard
